The Department of Geosciences at Virginia Tech anticipates filling one
or more tenure-track positions to start in the fall of 2006 in the
focus area of GEOPHYSICS, including the areas of exploration
geophysics, petrophysics, rheology, geodynamics, geodesy, and
seismology.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in Geosciences or a related
physical science field. The successful candidate will be expected to
develop a vigorous, externally funded research program to complement
existing programs in the department. The applicant should have a strong
commitment to undergraduate and graduate education. A Ph.D. is required
at the time of appointment. Questions regarding the position should be
