Dear AGU members interested in the Earth and Space Science 
Informatics (ESSI) focus group --labelled "IN" in the program 
documents:

Thursday June 8 is the deadline for submitting special sessions 
proposals to AGU for the Fall meeting. ESSI is very new, but is 
already quite successful, drawing participation from all over the 
world.  This note is to urge you to consider proposing a special 
session for the 2006 Fall AGU meeting in San Francisco.  If you know 
other individuals or groups who would have an interest in AGU's ESSI 
activities, please do not hesitate to contact them and suggest that 
they submit such a proposal.

Submitting a session proposal is easily done on line at http://www.agu.org

The description of the focus group reads as follows: "AGU's ESSI 
Focus Group serves to facilitate communications and coordinate 
activities related to issues of data management and analysis, 
large-scale computational experimentation and modeling, and the 
hardware and software infrastructure needs to span the range of 
scientific topics to interest of the Union."   It is intrinsically 
interdisciplinary and session drawing from different disciplines are 
strongly encouraged.
