COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT

A Town Hall meeting focusing on the GeoEarthScope component of the  
NSF-funded EarthScope project will be held at the 2006 GSA meeting in  
Philadelphia. GeoEarthScope includes the acquisition of aerial and  
satellite imagery and geochronology to examine the strain field  
beyond the decade time scales available from geodesy and seismology,  
and to assist with station siting. An overview of the current status  
and plans for GeoEarthScope will be presented for community feedback.  
This Town Hall meeting will take place on Monday, October 23, from  
7:30pm - 9:00pm, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Room 204B.
