UNAVCO Community,

Freddy Blume called in with preliminary reports of a very large
earthquake drill in southern California around 10 a.m. PST. The
initial magnitude estimate was Mw=6.7, and it was subsequently
upgraded to Mw=7.8. There have been significant aftershocks as well,
which interrupted the call I received from Freddy.

Freddy Blume has been appointed the Event Coordinator and will be
handling requests and disseminating information through a discussion
