Colleagues - Please consider submissions to the following special session
for the Fall AGU meeting. Abstracts are due August 8.

V007: Combining petrological studies of volcanic systems with geophysical,
gas and other information sources
Combining petrological studies of volcanic systems with geophysical, gas
and other information sources Volcanic systems represent dynamic and
complex environments, and understanding their behavior requires
multidisciplinary approaches. Petrological studies have much to offer, and
may be used retrospectively to infer volcanic processes, but work best in
concert with other data sources. We seek studies that combine petrological
insights with seismological, gas emission, deformation, numerical models
or field constraints to probe volcanic behavior. We particularly welcome
studies that investigate initiation of eruptions, constrain key
timescales, and that help forecast eruptive behavior. Petrological
studies that link recent volcanic behavior to the pre-instrument record
are also welcome.
