Dear Colleagues,

We welcome a broad range of submissions to this session from individuals and groups working in glaciated (or recently glaciated) regions. Please note that the AGU abstract deadline is August 8 this year.

Interactions Between the Solid Earth and Cryosphere

Polar regions are geodynamic environments where the solid earth, the cryosphere, the oceans, and the atmosphere are intimately linked. This session will explore new data-driven and modeling studies bearing on interactions between the solid earth and ice sheets or associated glaciological processes. Topics are expected to include crust and mantle structure beneath ice sheets, feedbacks between geophysical processes and ice sheet dynamics, new data and models incorporating ice history and glacial isostatic adjustment, the solid earth geodynamic response to ice mass changes, and assimilation of ground-based measurements with space-based data. Contributions addressing interactions at both poles are encouraged.
