GNS Science is seeking a Geodetic Scientist to undertake research using
GPS and other geophysical data to measure, model and interpret tectonic
deformation along the plate boundary dissecting New Zealand (and further
afield) and to contribute to research and consultancy projects as
appropriate. This will include undertaking collaborative research with
others in the geodetic team to collect and analyse both continuous and
intermittent geodetic data, and to interpret these data in terms of
tectonic and other signals.
The successful applicant will have a PhD (or equivalent) in geophysics
and, preferably, relevant international post-PhD experience of at least 2
years. This will include experience with collecting, processing, modelling
and interpreting geodetic and other data to understand earth deformation
processes.
Additional information and application materials are available at
www.gns.cri.nz/careers. Applications close 4 April 2012.
