The SAFOD Advisory Committee to UNAVCO invites you to a lunch discussion on the future of the San Andreas Fault Observatory at Depth.
The NSF is currently seeking a new national office to coordinate scientific projects using SAFOD drill core and the SAFOD borehole.
UNAVCO is the SAFOD Management Office until the close of the current PBO/SAFOD Cooperative Agreement on September 30, 2013.
The EarthScope Science program at NSF (http://www.nsf.gov/funding/pgm_summ.jsp?pims_id=501035) recently released a proposal solicitation to support a SAFOD Management Office (SMO).
The SMO solicitation may be found here: http://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2012/nsf12574/nsf12574.htm.
The lunch discussion will serve as an open forum for ideas about how the new SMO might interact with the scientific community and what the future directions might be for SAFOD.
UNAVCO and NSF staff along with members of the SAFOD Advisory Committee will attend the forum and be available for questions.
Please see details below for the SAFOD Meeting at AGU. Lunch will be provided on a first come first served basis for approximately 30 participants.
