Post-doctoral Fellowship in InSAR algorithm development

Applications are invited for a Post-doctoral Research fellowship in InSAR algorithm development at the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences at University of Miami (UM). The position is part of a NASA support project focusing on the development of advanced algorithms for 3-D InSAR unwrapping using non-linear filters.

The successful applicant will join an active geodetic research program at UM. The position is available immediately.

Candidates should have, or be near completion of, a PhD in Geophysics, Remote Sensing, Electrical Engineering or related areas. The candidate will develop and test 3-D InSAR unwrapping algorithms using non-linear filters, as Extended Kalman Filter (EKF). The candidate should be familiar with SAR interferometry (InSAR) data processing and analysis. Experience with signal processing, Kalman filters, and algorithm development is an advantage. The research will involve algorithm development and testing. The algorithm development will continue our ongoing research using 3-D, EKF unwrapping algorithm and will focus on the use of external information, such as GPS and LIDAR observations, to constrain InSAR measurements. The algorithm will be tested using various InSAR datasets (ERS, Envisat, TSX) in different deforming environments, as urban subsidence or volcanic-induced deformation.

To apply, please send a letter describing research interests, a curriculum vita, and the names, addresses, and e-mail address of three potential references to Dr. Shimon Wdowinski, Division of Marine Geology and Geophysics, Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, University of Miami.
