Dear colleagues (with apologies for multiple postings),

Openings are available beginning Fall 2013 for postdoctoral fellowships
in the fields of geophysics, volcanology, and planetary science that
provide support for creative independent research of the applicant's
choosing. Details on DTM research staff, laboratory facilities, and
ongoing research can be found at dtm.ciw.edu under "Fellowships" and
“Research”, respectively. Fellowships are for one year and are normally
renewable for a second year.

Applications should include a curriculum vitae and bibliography,
description of thesis research, and a short (2-3 page) statement of
research plans for the fellowship period. Creativity in the proposed
research figures heavily in the evaluation of the application. Three
letters of recommendation should be sent directly to DTM by those
familiar with your work. Applications and reference letters can be
e-mailed to geofellowship at dtm.ciw.edu. Applicants are also asked to
complete a self-identification form. Review of the applications will
begin on December 1, 2012. Women and minority candidates are especially
encouraged to apply. AAE/EOE.

Applications should be addressed to:
Department of Terrestrial Magnetism
Carnegie Institution of Washington
5241 Broad Branch Road, NW
Washington, DC 20015-1305

Attention: Fellowships Committee

Best regards,
Diana Roman
