Greetings!

The Seismological Society of America (SSA) invites U.S. graduate students to apply for a travel grant to attend the sixth annual Geosciences Congressional Visits Day in Washington DC, September 17-18, 2013. This is a great opportunity for any U.S. graduate student who is interested in the intersection of geoscience and public policy!

Participants will spend two-days learning: how Congress works, how to conduct congressional visits, about relevant legislation, about relevant federal agencies and programs, and will also visit with members of Congress and/or congressional staff on Capitol Hill. The visits will focus on the importance of geoscience research and development and geoscience education.

For more information, to view the travel grant application requirements and to apply go to http://www.seismosoc.org

If you know a U.S. graduate student who is interested in the intersection of geoscience and public policy – please forward this invitation.

Thank you!

Regards,
