The *IRIS/PASSCAL Instrument Center* (www.passcal.nmt.edu

to fill the position of Staff Scientist/Field Engineer.

JOBDUTIES:

Primaryresponsibilitiesaretosupportseismicresearchbothin thefieldandin 
thelab.Dutiesinclude:preparingequipmentforshipping;worldwidefield 
supportincludingtheArcticandAntarctic;developmentofspecialized 
equipmentforseismicstationsinharshenvironments;produceandmaintaindocumentationandwebcontentrelatedto 
fieldsupport;andusertraining.Hardwareandwirelesscommunicationstesting,repair,maintenance,and 
troubleshooting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor'sdegreerequiredinEngineering.Electrical, 
Mechanical,orStructuralengineeringdesign.Field datacollectionsystems; 
wirelesscommunications,installation,andnetworkdesign; DCpower 
systems;TimeSeriesDataFormats; and SeismologicalFieldexperiencedesired.
