Tue Dec 15 17:17:42 MST 2015

Colleagues,

The Bowie Lecture is nearly upon us at 5 p.m. in Moscone West 2022-2024, led by recognition of Chuck Meertens for the Ivan I. Mueller Award. Dan Dzurisin will give the Bowie Lecture: Turtles to Terabytes: The Ongoing Revolution in Volcano Geodesy. The Geodesy Section Business Meeting & Reception follows at the Marriott Marquis from 6:30 to 8 in Salons 2/3/4 (see section leadership message below for information).

UNAVCO Annual Business Meeting will be in the adjacent Salons 4 - 6 thereafter! Ben Phillips will make remarks, and I will be giving a brief annual report (if my voice holds out!). The Board election balloting will end during the meeting and the composition of the 2016 UNAVCO Board will be announced.

Best,
Meghan

> We thank everyone who contributes to our Geodesy Section Fund! We especially thank UNAVCO and JGR Solid Earth, who are sponsoring our Geodesy Reception again this year. This past year, we used the Geodesy Section Fund to co-sponsor an AGU early career networking event, to fund Outstanding Student Paper Awards, which we just increased from $100 to $200 each, award plaques and certificates, and special AV needs, to co-sponsor this reception, and for other miscellaneous costs. Please, everyone, consider donating every year to the Geodesy Section Fund for these good causes.
