[unav_all] Undergraduate teaching resources that feature geodesy data and motivate student learning

Hello UNAVCO Community

In this time between terms —> now is your chance to look over the GEodesy Tools for Societal Issues (GETSI) <https://serc.carleton.edu/getsi> undergraduate teaching resources and decide what you will use in the upcoming year. The collection has continued to expand and now includes six finished modules with another seven to come.

These resources feature geodetic data and quantitative skills applied to societally important issues of climate change, natural hazards, and water resources. Current modules:
Surface Process Hazards (Introductory level)
Ice Mass and Sea Level Changes (Introductory level)
Measuring Water Resources with GPS, Gravity, and Traditional Methods (Majors level)
Imaging Active Tectonics with InSAR and LiDAR data (Majors level)
GPS, Strain, and Earthquakes (Majors level)
Analyzing High Resolution Topography with TLS and SfM(Majors level; Field Collection)

If you have already used elements of GETSI modules, we would love to get your feedback. Please complete an ~30-minute Share Your Experience survey <https://serc.carleton.edu/getsi/share_experience.html> and receive a $100 stipend (must be US citizen or at US institution).

HIGHLIGHT - the Visible Earthquake InSAR online modeling tool <https://earthquakes.aranzgeo.com/> has been revised and updated. Use it to make teaching about InSAR easier and more effective. See “Imaging Active Tectonics” Units 3 & 4 for supporting resources on teaching about InSAR and using the tool.
