Some of you will have heard about this already, but there are two important meetings being held this July-August in Japan that may be of interest. The international associations IAG (Geodesy) and IASPEI (Seismology) will be holding a joint scientific assembly in Kobe, Japan, July 30-August 4. It should be an exciting meeting, with both disciplinary and cross-disciplinary sessions. The abstract deadline is coming up soon, February 8th. For more information, see the website: http://www.iag-iaspei-2017.jp

In addition, a GNSS Tsunami Early Warning System Workshop will be held in Sendai the week before (July 25-27, see attachment below). The timing and location were chosen to be complementary with the IAG, and some UNAVCO members may be interested in attending both. There is no website for this yet, but John Rundle is the chair of the organizing committee and he will have more information as it becomes available.
