Registration is now open to attend the school on “Earthquakes: nucleation,
triggering, rupture, and their relationship with aseismic processes” at the
Institut d'Etudes Scientifiques de Cargèse in Corsica, France on October
2-6, 2017. This is a follow-on of the school held in November 2014 (see
http://earthquakes.sciencesconf.org/ <https://earthquakes.sciencesconf.org/>
 and https://eos.org/meeting-reports/exploring-earthquakes-
slow-slip-and-triggering), which had 98 participants (mainly students and
early career scientists) from 18 countries who attended ~20 lectures by
scientists from all around the world, and partook in hands-on-tutorials,
poster sessions and discussions. Topics in the previous and upcoming
school focus on recent developments in earthquake science related to
processes noted in the school’s title, with the overarching goal of
educating and energizing participants and furthering earthquake
preparedness, forecasting, and international research networks. The program
and registration are at http://earthquakes2.sciencesconf.org/.
