UNAVCO Community:

We are pleased to offer an opportunity to support current and future faculty in geodesy, geophysics, or geosciences with professional development in higher education teaching, learning, and research through participation in the 4th annual Earth Educators’ Rendezvous <https://serc.carleton.edu/earth_rendezvous/index.html> (EER), supported by the National Association of Geoscience Teachers, July 23-27, 2018.

This opportunity is open to:
late stage PhD students (within 2 years of degree) intending to pursue a faculty position
post-doctoral professionals with the intent to pursue a faculty position
early career faculty (within 10 years of terminal degree) [including faculty from two-year colleges]
Participants will be part of an education-focused cohort working to improve teaching and learning in higher education. Participants will participate in 2.5 days of the EER and participate in sessions devoted to geodesy curricular materials (GETSI workshop) and communication skills. Participants will also commit to participating in pre- and post-conference webinars. The full program schedule and more information about the EER is available online <https://serc.carleton.edu/earth_rendezvous/2018/index.html>. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis beginning April 30.

Participation requirements and an application are available on the UNAVCO website <http://www.unavco.org/education/professional-development/short-courses/2018/early-career-workshop/early-career-workshop.html>.
