Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I am pleased to invite you to register for the 2018 UNAVCO Science Workshop at the Omni Hotel in Broomfield Colorado! It will be held March 27 - 29, 2018. Prices go up March 1!

Geodesy continues to provide us insights into processes and systems that involve all of the geosciences, and the agenda showcases that breadth. The session topics include old friends and new: Plate Tectonics, Troposphere/Ionosphere, Volcanoes, Subduction Zones and Sea-Level/Cryosphere. Thorne Lay will give a keynote at the banquet with a focus on geodetic and seismic data for tsunami source modeling. In a new twist, technical sessions will also be plenaries and focus on new applications for Sea-floor Geodesy, LIDAR, INSAR, and Real-time GNSS. There will also be highlights on the spectrum of geodesy’s broader impacts. A field trip and IGNITE session are also in the planning stage!
UNAVCO is a community of geoscientists who use GPS and other geodetic technologies to study climate change, ice dynamics, sea level change, freshwater resources, volcanic unrest, earthquakes, and tectonic plate motions, among many other topics. The US National Science Foundation supports UNAVCO to provide technical support, instrumentation, data services, and public outreach for this academic scientific community, in support of broad geoscience research around the world.
Every two years, more than 200 scientists gather to share science results and to plan how to best harness new and evolving geodetic technologies for continued science innovation.
Best,
Meghan
