The European Center for Geodynamics and Seismology (ECGS) is an Earth science research foundation supported by the government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
The key missions of ECGS encompass fundamental research activities in solid earth sciences, with a particular focus on the disciplines of seismology and satellite geodesy (InSAR, GNSS), as well as seismological and geodetic observatory missions.
In this framework, ECGS operates seismic and geodetic networks in Luxembourg and the Virunga Volcanic Province in Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, as well as the Walferdange Underground Laboratory for Geodynamics.
