The Geodesy and Geophysics research group at the University of Iowa seeks applicants for a 12-month postdoctoral position in the broad field of geodesy and active tectonics. The position is internally funded, and applicants will have the capability to define their research focus. We particularly encourage applicants with experience and/or interest in, but not limited to, the following research areas:

Machine learning applications that may be applied to geodesy or remote sensing

Geodetic applications in high resolution topography and/or optical imagery

Earthquake cycle modeling

Landscape modeling along active faults

The start date of the appointment is flexible, with the hope that the appointed candidate would begin by Fall 2019. Review of applications will begin as they are received and continue until the position is filled. Applicants should have completed all requirements of their PhD by the time of appointment.

To apply, please email a single PDF with (1) a detailed CV, (2) a brief, one page statement of research interest, and (3) contact information for 2-3 references to Bill Barnhart (william-barnhart-1 at uiowa.edu).
