The USGS National Earthquake Information (NEIC) in Golden, CO is seeking applicants for a research geophysicist to contribute to the following areas:

  *   Synthesizing geophysical observations to model and describe seismic sources and the earthquake process;
  *   Developing innovative, sophisticated computer algorithms and/or models that advance existing methods of defining earthquake source parameters and associated seismotectonics;
  *   Performing rapid characterization and documentation of significant global earthquakes; and,
  *   Leading in the response to damaging or catastrophic earthquakes at the National Earthquake Information Center (NEIC).
